Chillicothe – Sept 16, 2019
Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Federal Co-Chair Tim Thomas traveled to Ross County and other points in the region to meet with industry leaders. While in Chillicothe, Thomas visited Kenworth Truck where he received a glimpse of future technologies in the trucking industry and talked with managers of the Class-8 truck manufacturer’s supply chain companies. Representatives from Adena Health System, another major Chillicothe employer, were also on hand to share talent attraction strategies they are using to bring physicians and medical technicians to the area. The visit provided the Federal Co-Chair with an overview of the challenges and opportunities facing these industries, which will help focus ARC program support.
