Chillicothe, Ohio – Fluor-BWXT, through a partnership with the Joint Economic Development Initiative of Southern Ohio (JEDISO), recently provided a $32,000 grant to Riffle Machine Works of Chillicothe for an expansion of the company’s assembly production area.

“Riffle Machine Works has become a successful logistics and supply chain management company because of the ability to produce high-quality products while keeping pace with the production schedules of their clients,” said Tim Poe of Fluor-BWXT. “We are pleased to support this company’s expansion which will benefit Chillicothe, Ross County and all of southern Ohio.”

Riffle Machine Works is a family-owned company that started in 1980 with three employees and has grown to be a major parts supplier for Kenworth trucks. Today, Riffle employs more than 220 men and women who assemble approximately 60,000 parts each day for Kenworth.

“Their entrepreneurial spirit and response to industry demand has made this company a leader in our community,” states Tammy Eallonardo, Director of Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development. “Ross County is proud to support Riffle Machine Works in their most recent expansion project. In addition to $1.6 million in capital investment, the project will bring 25 new jobs to our county.”

Fluor-BWXT is currently decommissioning and cleaning up the former uranium enrichment plant in Pike County. The company sets aside funding each year to invest back into the JEDISO region (Ross, Pike, Scioto and Jackson counties) to help build a sustainable economy for the future. Since 2012, Fluor-BWXT has provided more than $4 million in grants. Through JEDISO, those funds have been matched with more than $100 million in state and federal grants to help create and retain approximately 1,500 jobs in southern Ohio.
