R L Waller Construction, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio
Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development, today
announced expanding their operations in Ross County, creating four new jobs.
Based in Chillicothe, Ohio, R L Waller Construction began with new high-end residential construction,
additions, and remodeling and now specializes in historic restoration. They also provide custom trim,
stairways, cabinets, decks, and furniture. They have commercial experience in retail construction,
medical facilities, museums, and restaurants, including Dickey’s, Roosters, and local favorites.
“This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for R L Waller Construction,” said Bob Waller, President
of R L Waller Construction. “Our commitment to historic restoration and craftsmanship has always been
at the heart of what we do, and this investment allows us to enhance our capabilities, grow our team,
and better serve the region’s preservation needs. We’re proud to continue our work in Chillicothe and
contribute to the revitalization of historic properties that define our community’s character.”
R L Waller Construction is investing in its manufacturing shop to increase its capacity for producing
historic windows, millwork, and doors to meet the demands from the company’s increased work in
historical restoration, repairs, renovation, and adaptive reuse. The company is also looking to expand its
pre-1940 window restoration and replication through a new company, Historical Window Preservation,
LLC.
“Chillicothe is a town that is rich in architectural history. Many of our buildings have been renovated to
historical accuracy by R. L. Waller Construction. They have a unique ability to recreate architectural
detail using modern materials,” explains Tammy Eallonardo, Director of Greater Chillicothe & Ross
County Development. “This project will allow R.L. Waller to improve their fabrication shop, build
capacity, and create additional jobs.”
Dawn Coleman and The Ohio State University South Centers Manufacturing Extension Partnership
(MEP), located in Piketon, Ohio, referred the company to OhioSE.
This investment is supported by a $25,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant. The JobsOhio Small Business Grant provides grants to support the growth of small businesses that face unique challenges because they are either located in a qualifying zip code or are owned by an eligible population, which includes minorities, women, veterans, and people with disabilities. To qualify the company must have an eligible project and meet business size and industry requirements.
“The JobsOhio Small Business Grant has played a major role in helping us assist companies in our region
grow and increase their workforce,” said Katy Farber, vice president for OhioSE. “This project is another
example of how impactful the program is in Ohio Southeast.”
